CAP6-CMA (Beta) Objective 4.4: log support bundle for all vRA components - Part02

In this part 02 of Objective 4.4, I would cover the left over two tasks

· Generate a log support bundle for all vRealize Automation components
· View and export log data for further analysis

· Generate a log support bundle for all vRealize Automation components

a. Support Bundle for vRealize Automation: (Simple Install)

1. Login to https://vra-va-hostname.domain.name:5480/ and enter the root credentials
2. Click on Admin > Logs
3. Click on Create Support Bundle and then download to download it on your computer.

Distributed Install

b. Support logs for complete Distributed Install

1.  Login to https://vra-va-hostname.domain.name:5480/ and enter the root credentials
2. Click on vRA Settings and then Cluster. Under the collect logs section, click on Collect Logs buttons. This will collect logs for all the components of vRealize including all the IaaS components (so cool!!!)

Exception: SSO, Identity Appliance, External vCO, Application Services. User needs to manually download the logs for these components.

For Application Services, refer the VMware documentation, Collecting Logs to Troubleshoot Failures

For vCO / vRA

1. Log in to the vCO configurator, https://vco_ip_or_fqdn:8283
2. Click on Logs and select the log level as needed and click Apply Changes.
3. Now click on Generate a log report and save the file.

· View and export log data for further analysis

Refer the VMware documentation for Default Log Location for all the components.
